In a recent Smile 90.4FM interview with Benito Vergotine, Head of Philanthropy, Jean de Villiers, shared how we are working to secure the future of the Blair Atholl Pre-Primary School, in Lanseria, just outside of Johannesburg. The school, a beacon of hope to the surrounding disadvantaged community, provides early childhood education to 125 children, aged between three and six years old, in a safe and nurturing environment.
We recently hosted our annual A Citadel Experience and raised an incredible R2.3 million, which we will manage in an endowment for the Gary and Vivienne Player Foundation, to ensure the school’s long-term sustainability.
As Jean de Villiers said in the interview: “If we do nothing, it certainly won’t get any better. But if we work together private sector, public sector, and individuals, South Africa’s future can be brighter.”
